PACKAGING

Is your packaging recyclable?

Our bottles and jars are fully recyclable, including the lids and caps on the jars. Our aluminum bottles are 99% of recycled material and is 100% recyclable. Our glass bottles of 20ml, 100ml and our 100g jars are 100% recyclable and come from recycled material (although it is difficult to determine the percentage of recycled sources, as it varies for each batch).

The labels used in the 225ml & 100ml bottles are 100% compostable, the 20ml bottles and the 100g jars are now 100% FSC® paper(*). These cannot be recycled as they are stuck to the bottles.

Please check the below images for full details:

(*)FSC-certified paper typically is composed of virgin tree fibres but it can be just as eco-friendly as recycled paper. ‘FSC‘ stands for Forest Stewardship Council, an organisation that works to promote the practice of sustainable forestry worldwide

One last thing! Please make sure you rinse your empty bottles and jars with hot water before putting them in the green container bin so they are as clean as possible.

What are your bottles and jars made of?

All of our bottles are made of glass except the new 225ml bottles which are made of aluminium. They are tinted with a special white coating to protect them from light thus preserving its quality. And on top they look super cool!

PRODUCT

How do you make your flavoured olive oils?

We crush 100% natural ingredients along with the olives. This method is more expensive than infusing the oils or adding natural aromas but we are committed to quality and we believe this is the best way for you to enjoy flavoured olive oils.

How do you make your virgin nut oils?

The virgin nut oils are obtained by cold-pressing nuts and seeds (hazelnut, almond, walnut, peanut, pumpkin seed and pistachio), which have been roasted previously for greater depth of flavour. Nothing else is added.

How should I consume my oils?

Where do we begin?! We love sipping it straight out of the bottle to drizzling it on top of a salad. Check out our recipe section for more inspiration.

How should I store my oils?

We recommend storing our oils and patés away from light and heat. Some people like to keep the patés in the fridge; this is ok to do if you want to, just make sure you give it a really good stir before and after putting it in the fridge as it contains olive oil.

I’m not happy with a product and would like to make a complaint; who should I speak to?

We’re really sorry to hear that you’re not satisfied with your Azada product. Please send us an email to shop@azada.es with as much information as you can. Please include the batch code and Best Before Date, as well as photos, where possible so that we can investigate your complaint properly.

Where are your products made?

Our products are made in a small village called Riudoms (province of Tarragona), the city in which Antonio Gaudí was born. The olives are harvested in the area of Baix Camp and Priorat and the ingredients used for our flavoured olive oils are from Spanish origin.

Our nut oils are also made in Riudoms but they are produced in a nut-friendly facility. Most of the nuts are from Spanish origin as we support local farmers except for those nuts that cannot be sourced locally like peanuts and pumpkin seeds.

Why are some of your oils more expensive than others?

Our virgin nut oils are generally more expensive than olive oils simply because nuts cost more to buy as an ingredient. We’ve always been committed to pricing our products as fairly as possible and making sure we’re giving you good value for money.

Why are some of your products not organic?

It’s simple: the cost. We really want to make products that are as accessible as possible, and organic produce would make our oils much more expensive. Instead we focus on sourcing the highest quality ingredients from select suppliers and whenever possible, we buy organic certified.

Why don’t you have a truffle oil?

Our oils are obtained by pressing and crushing olives together with 100% natural ingredients. Truffles don’t infuse well with oil so producers use artificial aromas instead that give the oil, in our opinion, an unpleasant aftertaste.
